Lake George New photo's!

So this week from thursday thro saturday I went on a trip with 2 other staff and three of the ladies at the house i work at for an overnight vacation to Lake George. I've only been once and it's been years!! So it was nice to experience it again. It was like a whole new experience. We had a blast. I'm so glad the ladies had fun. Us staff did too! And i got some great new photo's. I found a studio in town and i'm hoping to get a body of artwork together and have it up for july and august and hopefully make some money!! Either way i'd be glad to just to get my art up. And it's a decent price to hang. So here are my new photo's. check out my facebook page and become a friend. I have a separate one for my art work!

Fathers day .. And Ashby

So today is Fathers day. And i'm happy to be able to celebrate it with my daddy. I'm a daddy's girl. My dad is my hero. Always has been. We have 90% of the time totally understood each other and are like two peas in a pod. I love my dad with all my heart. I couldn't ask for a better dad. He is the first person I go to about any problem i have. He is always there for me. He helps me even when I dont ask for it. He is my best friend. I can always count on him to be there even if it's just to listen to me rant. I look up to him for everything. Thanks dad, for being my dad and the best dad you could be. You are number one in my book! I hope you had a great Fathers day!

I also of course celebrated it with my boyfriend Collin. I only wish his daughter could have been here to help make it more special. Maybe next year. Happy Fathers day!

I'm SOO excited. Because not only is my dad in town, but ASHBY is here as well ( with mom!!). It's been 8 months since I've seen Ashby and 10 months since i've seen mom. I'm so psyched. Ashby now has his permit. WATCH OUT!! lol... And is TALLER than me :( .... He isn't a little kid anymore. He has grown up so much in the last year. I hate that we live so far away but i'm glad he gets to experience everything i wish i could have as a kid. Like living near my cousin's and having a real relationship with them. Tonight dad took us all out to see Super 8. Which was awesome. Tomorrow we are going to go Car shopping and see what we can do about getting Collin a new car. We shall see. I'm not too optimistic about it. Our credit sucks... But he needs a new car... Going to soak up as much time with dad and ashby before dad leaves next sunday. Then spend as much time with ashby and mom as i can. Then it's off to UTAH for VACATION and FAMILY REUNION time. I'm so excited!! I'll get to see mom's new house and see all the family and Collin is coming to the reunion so he'll get to meet the WHOLE family!

GRILLING SEASON

So for Fathers day for Collin, since he is a father and his family doesn't really recognize that, I got him a grill. I have to say for once, this is a bit selfish of me. But he loves it! I'm so glad because he was saying he didn't want me to get one for his bday but I think he thought I'd spend outrageous money on one for him. I do spoil him. But I love him. And he deserves it. Sometimes lol... Anyways, as i was saying I was being a bit selfish because I want a grill. I want people to come over and have a good time. Now if i could just get people to show up when they are invited. Lol...
I found a great deal last weekend on a 2 burner grill at Home Depot. You can't get much cheaper than $88. Well after getting the cover and the full tank and everything else... It was more but still. I stayed in my budget. Awesome!! I gave it to Collin early, last weekend, so we could plan having a BBQ today. He loved it. I got him some cooking and cleaning stuff for the grill today. And it was a beautiful day.

My new fav food!

So i've been trying to get healthier. I've cut out the soda. Lost about 15 pounds so far just from switching to water. It's not easy tho. And i try to eat a salad once a day. I have found avocado's to be my new favorite food. Mmmmm... So tasty... I never was fond of them until this year. Now i eat them all the time. On salad, or just by themselves. Usually i make a salad made with spinach leaves, feta cheese, tomatoes, Avocado, and some olive oil. So Good and good for you. LOVE IT!!

PEO Convention

So this weekend was New York State's PEO Convention. P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College; and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations. I am a third generation PEO. My mimi is a PEO as well as my mom. I also have a great aunt who is a PEO and my grandma's sister who is an inactive PEO.

Anyways, I had a blast. Per usual. This is my second convention. There are 79 chapters of PEO in New York state. We all get together once a year in a central location. We spend most the time meeting new people and seeing old friends; getting to know one another. The rest of the time we learn what it means to be a true PEO and what good we do by helping women get their education. Last year I went unplanned. And unsure. It was the best thing i ever did. It made me realize that I have friends wherever i go and that I dont need to be afraid to get out there and socialize. To get out there and be myself. This year I volunteered before our chapter president even asked. And i persuaded a brand new PEO in our chapter to go with me as delegates for our chapter so she could get a bigger understanding of what we do and why she joined. Convention really opens your eyes to the bigger picture and the possibilities that we have to offer as a sisterhood. I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to not only get to experience this again for myself but to have shared it with another member of my chapter. This year I was so excited to get out of town. It was not only nice to do that but to go somewhere where I was accepted by strangers with open arms for who i was and in return wanted to know me. I took PLENTY of pictures. Every time i sat down, i conversed with someone new. I learned about them as they learned about me. And then i pulled out the camera took a photo of everyone at the table. And then passed around a piece of paper and got their information. Without hesitation. I grew. I came home with 20 new friends. And next year when i go to convention I will be able to go up to everyone i met this year and say " Hey how are you?" and pick up where we left off. Not only that but this year I think i left a lasting impression on almost everyone i met this weekend. I am so thankful to be part of such a great organization. Here is 1/4 of the photo's.
