Happy times

Well, I haven't posted much in the last few weeks because it's been a little crazy here. I had a 10 page paper to write and a final project for my one class and a test in another. And so here it is exam week. i have 2 full days of nothing much to do. So i'm packing. I cannot wait to move. i feel trapped and bored of this place. Being so far away from home has helped me realize what a great place Kingston, NY really is. Everytime i go home, I feel a sense of freedom and relief that I dont feel anywhere else. There are always people to see and things to do. Even if there is nothing to do, you will find something. I can't wait to spend one last summer home. I really want to spend quality time with Ashby. I feel like I haven't done enough of that lately and he is getting to be a teenager now. He's offically 13 on MAY 2. Scary. I love the bond we seem to have even though we are 10 years apart (which frankly i feel helps us have a closer bond than anything) and I haven't been home much in the last 5 years. Wow, 5 years. It's finally over. Here I come NY!

My birthday celebration continues

Wednesday Katie, Amanda, and I went to dinner at a local place called Tripps. We both got REALLY good margaritas. Katie was going out to town the next day so we celebrated before she left. We had a good time! 

So then thursday night Mimi came into town to see my show, the place i've lived for the last 4 years and for my birthday since she couldn't make the opening reception last weekend. I spent all day showing her around town. She was thrilled to see my place of habitation and my show. It was such a nice day out too. Then I had to go to work for a few hours while I waited for a girl to show up to cover the rest of my shift. My boss screwed up my schedule once again and I was left to fix it while she called my liar. I'm sorry but I take my birthday seriously and I'm not about to work till 10pm especially when my grandma is visiting me for the first and last time here. So the girl finally showed up and I was able to enjoy the rest of my day.  We went to Dinner at the Starlite Cafe, where (my family will be shocked) I VENTURED OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE in food. We ordered a Tappas appetizer which was delicious. First was lamb meatballs, then some kind of egg dish, and then a salmon salad. Then I had the bass cooked in a lemon basil and orange sauce with pilaf. It was soo good. Then for desert I got some kind of lemon ice cream which was to die for. 

Then we went to the newly redone fountain on campus. This is from far away. I have two other images which I will have to upload later. I also have a few other pictures from earlier in the day from our adventure on campus. All in all my day was pretty good. 

PS I have to say that I finally received something I've been wanting for awhile. Mimi got me the Annie Leibovitz lifetime photography book. Which I know is expensive. I am in love. I am so excited to have a real coffee table art book that I will thoroughly enjoy more than once. 

MY 23 BIRTHDAY!!

It's my birthday! I love any reason to celebrate. Especially my bday. I love that my birthday is april 10th and that it's in spring. Today happens to be a wonderful breezy day. My grandma, Mimi, is visiting me for the first time ever. She came to see my show and be here on my day. So I took her to see my show and walk around campus. Campus was dead due to it being closed for Easter break. We took a few pictures and I blew Mimi's mind by being able to take a picture of us together with one hand. Lol. I promise to get pictures up soon. I've been receiving cards and text messages throughout the week. Though I have to say, while the day is not complete I am a little disappointed at how even though we as a society tend to try and keep in contact in so many ways (myspace, texting, cell phones, facebook, blogs, etc..) the communication still seems to be severely lacking. Thank you to all who have said their "Happy Birthday" wishes to me so far. I really do appreciate the thought. I'm looking forward to what this year of 23 (my dads fav number) holds for me.

WORD OF THE DAY

So I've decided I want to make my page more interesting... So I'm adding a word of the day. Some days maybe it will just be a word... other days it will be a quote or word of advice from somewhere... or something to the nature. I decided to put it on my wall and NOT as a post so that you have to come to my page every day to see whats new, but also so I dont create SOO many new posts... 

 I'll start in the next day or so... Things are still pretty crazy and yes i'm procrastinating on doing some important homework right now but hey I need a five min break every now and then. It's hard to keep your head in the books for 24/7 X 3 weeks... lol... it's been a crazy month, a crazy semester and I'm just ready to put my show up. Look out for New Posts about my show and other images of my work....
